We operate under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you are located in Australia, we also aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

  • Contact Data: Email address and phone number provided via our contact or newsletter forms.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you use our website, including pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, and IP address — collected via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Marketing Preferences: Your consent to receive marketing emails and newsletters, recorded at the time of sign-up.
  • Communications: Any messages you send us through the contact form, including their content.

3. How We Collect Information

  • Newsletter Sign-Up: When you enter your email and provide GDPR consent on our newsletter subscription page.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: Automatically when you visit our website, via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (see Section 6 for details).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries submitted via the contact form.
  • To send you our newsletter and relevant migration-related updates — only where you have given your explicit consent.
  • To analyse and understand how visitors use our website, helping us to improve content and user experience.
  • To monitor and protect the security and integrity of our website.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

We will only use your personal data for the purpose it was collected, or for a compatible purpose that you would reasonably expect.

5. Email Marketing — Resend

We use Resend as our email marketing and transactional email provider. When you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is securely transferred to and stored within Resend's platform.

  • Legal basis: Consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You must actively check a GDPR consent checkbox before subscribing.
  • Data stored: Email address and subscription status.
  • Data location: Resend is a US-based service. Where data is transferred outside of the UK/EEA, appropriate safeguards apply (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
  • Unsubscribe: Every newsletter we send contains an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time. You may also email us at support@uktoaustralia.com to request removal.

For more information, please review Resend's Privacy Policy.

6. Analytics — Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager

We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (GTM) to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our website. This helps us improve the site's performance, content, and usability.

Google Analytics may collect:

  • Pages you visit and the duration of your visit.
  • Your approximate geographical location (country/city level).
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system.
  • Referral source (how you found our website).

Google Tag Manager is a container tool that loads and manages tracking scripts (including Google Analytics) on our behalf. GTM itself does not collect personal data directly.

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — analysing site performance and improving user experience.
  • IP Anonymisation: We have enabled IP anonymisation in Google Analytics, meaning your full IP address is never stored.
  • Data retention: Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default within Google Analytics.
  • Opting out: You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics.

For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data practices.

7. Contact Form Data

When you submit a message via our contact form, your submission (name, email address, phone number, and message) is routed via a secure webhook to our internal workflow automation system. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — responding to enquiries submitted at your request.
  • Retention: Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your query and for a reasonable period thereafter (typically 12 months).
  • No third-party marketing: Your contact form data is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

8. Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — to help us improve your experience. The cookies we use include:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g., session management). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Set by Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data (see Section 6). These are only set where permitted by applicable law.
  • Tag manager cookies: Set by Google Tag Manager to manage deployment of other tracking tags.

You can control and delete cookies via your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect the functionality of the website.

9. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Our website is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption). API keys and sensitive credentials are stored as environment variables and are never exposed in the browser.

No method of digital transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we are committed to protecting your data to the best of our ability.

11. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Specifically:

  • Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Contact form submissions: Up to 12 months.
  • Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default setting).
